He also said the Delhi government is gearing up for the "foreseeable situation of June 30", and for that, preparations are being made for Covid infrastructure in stadiums, banquet halls, and hotels.

Coronavirus: Delhi needs to arrange 60,000 new beds in just 1.5 months

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today said the govt has estimated that by July 31, Delhi would have 5.5 lakh novel coronavirus cases. With the number of novel coronavirus rising rapidly in the national capital, the Arvind Kejriwal-led government in Delhi is staring at a towering task i.e. to arrange 60,000 beds in just 1.5 months. Speaking to reporters today, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said the government has estimated that the total number of Covid-19 cases in Delhi will rise to 5.5 lakh by July 31. He said this means the government would then require 80,000 beds to handle these cases.
