Earthquake: Tremors felt in Gujarat, epicentre in Kutch

Tremors were felt in Gujarat on Sunday evening. A preliminary statement by the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) has concurred. Concerned agencies confirmed that an earthquake of magnitude 5.5 occurred at 8:13 PM on June 14 at a depth of 10 km in Gujarat's Kutch district approximately 120 km from Rajkot. The latitude and longitude of the epicentre have been verified as 23.3 N and 70.4 E respectively. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani reportedly had a telephone conversation with the Collectors of Rajkot, Kutch and Patan districts to gather more information about the aftermath of the tremors. The tremor was felt in cities like Ahmedabad, Kutch, Patan and Rajkot where people were seen rushing out of their homes, an official of the Institute of Seismological Research (ISR) said. No report of damage to life or property has come to light so far. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao said that the decision to conduct 50,000 coronavirus tests was taken to contain the novel coronavirus spread with strict measures in Hyderabad and its surrounding areas. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal Tests Negative For Coronavirus Infection

The swab test of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejtiwal was conducted at the CM's residence earlier in the day. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday tested 'negative' for Coronavirus, hours after he underwent a swab test for the infection earlier in the day. As per reports, CM Kejriwal was suffering from ill-health for the past two days. "Kejriwal has tested negative for Covid-19," a party leader said.  Kejriwal went into self-isolation soon after developing mild fever and sore throat since Sunday. However, Delhi government officials earlier in the day said that his fever has now come down. Kejriwal did not take part in any meeting or did not meet anyone on Monday. He was last seen in a video conference on Sunday where he announced that the Delhi government hospitals would be reserved only for the residents of the national capital.

देश में कोरोना वायरस से किसी जन-प्रतिनिधि की मौत का पहला मामला सामने आया है. डीएमके के विधायक की कोरोना संक्रमण की वजह से मौत हो गई है. चेन्नई : तमिलनाडु में कोरोना वायरस ने द्रविड़ मुनेत्र कड़गम (डीएमके) के विधायक जे अंबाजगन की जान ले ली है. चेन्नई के डॉ. रेला इंस्टीट्यूट एंड मेडिकल सेंटर में उनका इलाज चल रहा था. बुधवार सुबह करीब 7 बजे उनका निधन हो गया. एक हफ्ते पहले जांच में उनकी रिपोर्ट कोरोना पॉजिटिव आई थी. देश में कोरोना से किसी जन-प्रतिनिधि की मौत का ये पहला मामला है. बताया जा रहा है विधायक जे अंबाजगन को अन्य बीमारियां भी थी. उन्हें किडनी से जुड़ी बीमारी भी थी. उनका शुगर लेवल भी हाई था. बुखार और सांस लेने में दिक्कत की शिकायत के बाद अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया था. वहां उनका कोरोना टेस्ट हुआ, तो रिपोर्ट पॉजिटिव आई. रेला इंस्टीट्यूट का कहना है कि जे अंबाजगन की तबीयत सोमवार शाम को ज्यादा बिगड़ गई थी. उनका दिल ठीक से काम नहीं कर पा रहा था. उन्हें आईसीयू में शिफ्ट किया गया था. बुधवार सुबह उनका निधन हो गया.

तमिलनाडु दूसरा राज्य, जहां सबसे ज्यादा केस

महाराष्ट्र के बाद देश में सबसे ज्यादा कोरोना मामले तमिलनाडु में हैं. स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय के मुताबिक, राज्य में अबतक 34,914 कोरोना केस सामने आ चुके हैं. इसमें 307 लोगों की मौत हो चुकी है. 18 हजार करीब लोग ठीक होकर घर जा चुके हैं, जबकि 16 हजार लोगों का अभी अस्पताल में इलाज चल रहा है. चेन्नई और आसपास के जिलों में कोरोना मामलों की 75 फीसदी हिस्सेदारी है.

Rajasthan reports 144 fresh Covid-19 cases, 5 deaths

Rajasthan's total number of registered coronavirus cases has gone up to 11,020 after 144 news cases were added today. The state has seen 251 deaths, out of which five fatalities were recorded today.

5.5 lakh Covid-19 cases expected in Delhi by July 31, says Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Tuesday said there might be 5.5 lakh Covid-19 cases in the city by July 31. He added that 80,000 beds will be needed for treating Covidf-19 patients in the national capital by July end. Sisodia's comment came after a meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority. The meeting was chaired by L-G Anil Baijal, who is also the chairperson for the DDMA. "Officials from the Centre said at the meeting that there is no community transmission of COVID-19 virus in Delhi," Sisodia told media.

Coronavirus: Delhi needs to arrange 60,000 new beds in just 1.5 months

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today said the govt has estimated that by July 31, Delhi would have 5.5 lakh novel coronavirus cases. With the number of novel coronavirus rising rapidly in the national capital, the Arvind Kejriwal-led government in Delhi is staring at a towering task i.e. to arrange 60,000 beds in just 1.5 months. Speaking to reporters today, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said the government has estimated that the total number of Covid-19 cases in Delhi will rise to 5.5 lakh by July 31. He said this means the government would then require 80,000 beds to handle these cases. This statement comes two days after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, in a virtual press conference, said there are about 20,000 beds available in Delhi at present.
